Pete Sok emigrated from Cambodia to Red Deer as a child, graduating from Lindsay Thurber in 1997. After high school Pete discovered a passion for cooking and was formally trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, studying in both Sydney, Australia and Ottawa, Ontario. Now, Pete is a local restaurant owner and winner of the first ever “Brothers Showdown” on the Food Network’s Chopped Canada. He has shared his expertise locally as the resident chef instructor at the Cooking Room in Red Deer, and as apprentice trainer in the Red Seal Program. Pete gives back to Central Alberta by offering motivational talks to groups like the Central Alberta Refugee Effort and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
