Kathy Lacey is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Red Deer, AB.

- Volunteer activities:
- Member of the Festival of Trees Committee since its inception in 1993 raising 5.8 million dollars for the Red Deer Regional Hospital
- Member of the Foundation for Red Deer Public School from 1994 - 2003
- Westerner Park Board of Directors.
- Has received many awards including: Red Deer Public School District - Friend of Education (1998), Sport Volunteer of Merit (2004), Mel Osborne Fellowship Award (2005), Alberta Centennial Award (2005), Westerner Park Life Volunteer (2005)
