Hunting Hills High School provides Advanced Placement for students wanting a more challenging and rigorous high school program. Top quality instruction and enriched learning activities guarantee a challenging, exciting and satisfying experience. Advanced Placement was developed to meet the unique needs of our academically talented and motivated students and is designed to: 

  • provide the opportunity for students to take college/university level courses while in high school.
  • offer greater academic challenge and foster personal development.
  • provide improved opportunities for students pursuing post-secondary education.
  • develop personal responsibility for learning.
  • increase scholarship opportunities.

Advanced Placement Program:  Is an international program offered to more than 1.8 million students, in over 16,000 schools in 112 countries. Established in 1955, Advanced Placement (AP) provides college-level courses and exams that give bright, motivated students an opportunity to get ahead by earning advanced placement and/or credits at college while still in high school. Students complete extra course material through scheduled classes, then study and write AP Exams which are prepared and marked by The College Board. While more than 3800 universities and colleges worldwide grant advanced credit to successful students, the advantages go beyond this. Students benefit by learning a subject in greater depth, developing skills critically important to successful study at college and demonstrating a willingness to undertake a challenging program. For success in this rigorous program students need to:

  • be highly self-motivated
  • excel academically
  • demonstrate intellectual curiosity
  • show a commitment to scholarship and excellence.
