RESUME

The key to a good resume is spending TIME and ATTENTION to the details. Often, your resume and cover letter is the first impression you make upon a potential employer.

A good resume CANNOT have any errors. This includes ensuring you have NO ERRORS in:

  • spelling
  • grammar
  • punctuation
  • capitalization
  • formatting
  • content

Drop by the Career Suite to pick up a Student Request for Reference Letter handout.  When you apply for a post-secondary institution, a job, a scholarship, or a summer research program, you will need reference letters from teachers/professors you know.  to get better letters, you need to choose the right people and provide them with all the information they need to write you a good letter.  If you follow the guidelines on our handout, you will be more successful in reaching your goals.
