Red Deer City Local 60 ATA

Application forms MUST be submitted to Hunting Hills High School to the attention of: Mrs. Leah Stella (leah.stella@rdpsd.ab.ca) prior to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, 03 May 2024


Eligibility and Values: 

1. The first scholarship recognizes and supports the enhancement of the teaching profession.  This scholarship, valued at $2000, is open to those graduating students of Red Deer Public School District who plan to enter a post-secondary program leading to a career in the teaching profession. Students much show proof of registration in an Education Program in order to receive the funds and a maximum of a one-year deferment is allowed.


2. The second scholarship, valued at $2000, has been established to assist sons and daughters of ATA Local #60 members.  Members of Local #60 include current teachers, teachers who retired with Local #60, active substitute teachers, and teachers on long-term disability leave.  Eligible applicants must be graduating students who are going into a recognized post-secondary institution. A maximum one-year deferment is allowed.


3. The third and fourth scholarships, valued at $1500, will be available to two additional qualifying applicants at the discretion of the selection committee  


Criteria: In order for an applicant to be considered, he/she MUST submit all documentation that is requested on the application form. Any incomplete applications will NOT be considered.


Please note:  The four students selected to receive these scholarships will need to provide further documents, proving enrollment in a post-secondary program, to the Treasurer of ATA Local #60 prior to receiving the scholarship monies.  They will also need to provide the Treasurer with their Social Insurance Numbers.
